Doug Daniels (1932- ), Queanbeyan, NSW provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive. Doug Daniel, was raised in a remote area near Captains Flat, N.S.W. His family home was in an area called Rossi, where they owned and operated a saw mill.

The National Library of Australia holds aural recordings of interviews conducted with Doug Daniels. He was interviewed by:

  • Rob Willis in January 2008 [2] Doug Daniel talks about his childhood; timber getters; his father's saw mill; bush remedies; house parties; the tradition of story telling; Slim Dusty; the importance of music in the area; his father and siblings playing instruments. He plays several tunes on the button accordion including several unnamed tunes from his father.
