The National Library of Australia holds aural recordings of interviews conducted with Rita Croaker. She was interviewed by

  • Chris Sullivan and Mark Rummery in June 1984, [2], [3], Rita Croaker accompanied by her daughter; Mark Rummery; Cathy Ovenden; on guitar, matchbox, spoons and violin.
  • Chris Sullivan in February 1986, [4], Also present Rita Croaker's daughters Cathy and Bernice; her sister Ivy; and Dan Delion.

One of two aboriginal / German sisters from Moree, daughters of Herb Troutman. Both Rita and her sister Ivy Fernando were accomplished button accordion players. Their father Herb Troutman was born in Germany, played an accordion and taught his daughters to play.
