A gentleman musician from Gracemere, Queensland. Ray wrote many tunes. A highlight was having one of his tunes used in an RM Williams advertisement. He won the Golden Gumleaf Bush Laureate Award for his book Bulldust and Ballads; for Book of the Year in 1996, and received five nomination for the 2011 Gold Guitar awards for Bush Ballad of The Year.
