"Just at the edge of the mountainous country to the north of Singleton, in the Carrowbrook area, we met an old chap called Jim Wilkinson who played both fiddle and accordion and had a fund of wonderful stories concerning the local bushrangers. The last of his family, Jim lived alone in a rambling old weatherboard house without the benefit of electricity."
