Bill Gilbert, South coast, NSW provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive, as described by John Meredith.

"Bill Gilbert ... was an old work-mate of George Bond of Bega. He played two accordions, one a Hohner 'Double Ray' two row instrument in the keys of B and C with twelve bass buttons and the other a Hohner 'Corso' in C and C sharp with eight basses. Bill was an extremely versatile player on both instruments; he played at a lively pace, introducing all sorts of decorations and variations." -- J Meredith, R Covell, P Brown, Folk Songs of Australia Vol 2, UNSW Press, 1987, p98.
