Bert Shields, Unanderra, (near Wollongong) NSW, provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive.

Bert Shields spent some of his life as a railway worker. Bert played tin whistle. Tin whistles and harmonicas were the favorite instruments of railway workers because they were able to secrete them on their person and when given half a chance they would head in to an empty box car, shut the door and practice.
