Doddy (Daniel) Murphy, The Lagoon, NSW provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive, as recorded by John Meredith.

"Doddy Murphy was born in 1917 and a second generation Australian, he sings with a marked Irish accent. ... Doddy plays the button accordion with a very individual style. He is a vigorous player, with a staccato touch on the treble end, while his legato bass carries a strong dance rhythm." -- (adapted from) J Meredith, R Covell, P Brown, Folk Songs of Australia Vol 2, UNSW Press, 1987, p219.
