Arthur Foster, Killarney Vale, NSW provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive, as recorded by John Meredith.

Charlie Foster "gave me the address of his elder brother, Arthur 'Cassidy' Foster, who was living in retirement at Killarney Vale on the Central Coast, and whom I visited soon after the Tumbarumba expedition. Arthur, who had worked as a Telecom linesman, had travelled more than his brother and had thus picked up more tunes. As well as fiddle, he played mandolin and was a virtuoso player on the leaf ... Born in 1909, Arthur was the elder brother. He told me that both boys were taught to play the fiddle by their father" -- (adapted from) J Meredith, R Covell, P Brown, Folk Songs of Australia Vol 2, UNSW Press, 1987, p260-1.
