It is two separate tunes. N:The 1st & 2nd lines are a good fit for the "Butcher's March" N: <https://tunearch.org/wiki/Butcher_March_(1)> N:The 3rd & 4th lines were used for "The Native" in the original Lancers music N:The earliest printed source of Parts C & D appears to be “John Sutherland; Aberdeen-shire N:Pastoral Pipe MS, c.1785 as “Boys Avoid All Care”. N:The tune was collected in Australia as: N: - "Miss Mary Marshall's Favourite", Alexander Laing MS, 1863 N: - “Ernie Wells Set Tune” from Ernie Wells N: - "Going To Scotland" from Harry Schaefer's lancers set, Fig 3, Schaefer MS, NLA. N: - "Magpie Jig" from Joe Yates, Sofala, NSW H:The naming of this tune is a bit of a mystery. Meredith knew/called it 'The Arrow Inn'. H:Chris Sullivan believed the Inn in question was called the 'Broad Arrow Inn'. H:The Inn in question is on local maps of the time as the Harrow Inn, c.1850 H:The ruins of the Inn are still there, over the road (Hume Hwy) from the Towrang Stockade H:on the hill overlooking Boxers Creek about 8 km north of Goulburn NSW.
