  • John Meredith in March 1983,[2]. Mahoney and Collie are from Two Mile Flat near Gulgong, New South Wales, and speak of playing for dances and the places they would play. Also available online [3]

"Mrs Alice Mahoney and her sister Mrs Milly Collie was born to the Cunningham family soon after 1900. They grew up at Two Mile Flat near Gulgong ... and used to accompany their parents to dances ... where she learnt to old dance tunes she played for Chris Sullivan and me on her violin. ...
