George Bailey provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive, collected by Mark Tandy in the late 70s.

He is included among [1] a number of Tasmanian accordionists recorded by Cyril South-horn(?) on Cape Barren Island, the recording passed to Mark Tandy, and now registered as part of the Chris Sullivan folklore collection in the National Library of Australia in Canberra.

"In the early 80s a friend of mine, knowing my interest in Australian Folk Music told me of a 'nest' of wonderful box players living on Cape Barren Island. She put me in touch with a certain Cyril South-horn (?), a mediocre box player himself but a very generous, likeable fella. He kept company with other very nice box players including George Bailey, Les Maynard and a few others.

Cyril and I corresponded for a short while, swapping recordings of box players we knew personally. On one occasion Cyril took his cassette recorder and made a recording just for me. In it, after introducing himself and playing a few tunes he introduced the others who, in turn played an assortment of their own idiosyncratic music. Some years later Chris Sullivan heard of this and asked me for a copy which I happily gave him." -- Mark Tandy, August 2025.
