Herb Tattersall "played the concertina and several kinds of zither. The zither he liked best of all was called a 'guitar-banjo-mandolin' and was akin to a zither strung with strings in pairs like a mandolin. When it was played, the effect was like a carillon of small bells." -- J Meredith, H Anderson, Folk Songs of Australia Vol 1, UNSW Press, 1967, p262.
