The National Library of Australia holds aural recordings of interviews conducted with the Netz family. They were interviewed by:
- Mark Schuster & Maria Zann in 1956, [1], Folkloric recording. Early recording of Netz family band from Mulgildie (Qld) playing a number of traditional German and old-time pieces on zither, violin, piano and accordion. Father Philipp Netz had been a professional musician in Germany and played all instruments before migrating to Queensland in 1911. On this recording Philipp plays zither and piano, his son Bill plays violin and accordion and daughter Lizzie plays violin and mandolin.
- Mark Schuster & Maria Zann between 1960-65, [2]. Archival recording, recorded in the 1960s, of the musical Netz family from Mulgildie, Queensland. A large variety of earlier German and old time dance music played on many instruments including violins, zither, mandolin, piano, piano accordion and saxophone. These recordings represent the talent and variety of the musical Netz family who have played dance music in the Mulgildie and Monto districts since the 1920s and for three generations. Performers include Philipp Netz Snr (zither, violin, piano), Philipp Netz Jnr (violin), Bill Netz (violin, piano) and Liz Kleidon (nee Netz) on stringed instruments.
