Les had on loan a lovely old rosewood 'Mezon Grand Organ' accordion, one of the excellent instruments made in Saxony up to about the mid-twenties ... He learnt many tunes from his father ... Great-grandfather Schultz was from Bavaria and possibly this accounted for most of Les's tunes being either waltzes or schottisches."
