Bill Painter provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive. Bill Painter, b.1903, played mouth organ. Bill was recorded as part of the Crooked Corner Band, which at that time comprised John Warn (4 row button Accordion), and his son Peter Painter (Banjo). Bill learned many of his tunes from his father, who never played a musical instrument but instead whistled his tunes. Bill's grandparents were born in the Goulburn district of NSW. His great grandparents came from England. Source, Folk Songs of Australia V.2 Pg 61-5
