Elma Ross, Wedderburn, Vic, provided details of some of the Australian tunes in this archive, collected by Peter Ellis.

She was the lead pianist of the Wedderburn Oldtimers, Wedderburn, Victoria.

"The Wedderburn Oldtimers, particularly Daisy Sutton, Lindsay Holt and their extraordinarily talented pianist Elma Ross, were of immense assistance in providing tunes and in the social history of a real old time dance in the bush ... Occasionally Elma Ross played the melody with the left hand while vamping with the right ... Elma Ross had the most wonderful regular dance rhythm and her fantastic arpeggio ‘tinkles’ were always a subsidiary bonus. Dance music was what she called ‘natural music’." -- Peter Ellis, "The Waltz, The Polka and All Kinds of Dance Music", 2007.
