  • Alan Musgrove in November 2004, [1], Bill Kearney born 1923 in Hamilton, talks about growing up in 'Connerwirricoo'; his grandfather coming out to Australia in 1840's, he was the curator of the Melbourne gardens; the Pendale home; going to the local school; leaving school at the age of 14 and working on the farm; buying and running the farm; his uncle playing the accordion and violin; the accordion being left to him; playing the mouth organ; his Army service for four and a half years; describes his days in Melbourne, whilst in the army; marrying in 1954 and having 4 children; playing for Wool shed dances, Christmas and windups for schools; never reading music, only playing 'by ear'; still playing for dances at Senior Citizens and dances and enjoying it.
