Growling Dogs recorded some of the Australian tunes in this archive.

Growling Dogs was a Melbourne based band, originally established by Alan Musgrove, for the Brunswick music Festival in 1998, that played collected Australian tunes after the style of legendary Australian fiddler, Joe Cashmere active in the Hillston district of NSW between 1893 and 1935.

Growling Dogs recorded an album of Reels, Mazurkas, Jigs, Polkas, Schottische, Varsos and Waltzes, in 2002 that featured Greg O'Leary, (fiddle), Helen Cahun, (fiddle), Lia Christensen, (fiddle), and Julia Arnold (piano). But Julia was unavailable to record this album and the piano was played by Tony Hargraves.
